Some common challenges we have helped our clients to solve are shown below. Please Contact Us using the options on the right to see how we can help you.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Although there is a risk framework in place, risk events are not identified and reported in a timely or consistent way leading to significant delays in implementing additional controls or mitigation strategies.
- Monthly reporting is not dynamic enough (ie we don't understand how the risk environment is changing quickly enough) so we are often reacting to evolving risks instead of being able to anticipate and influence them.
Security & Risk Management
- Email reporting and spreadsheet analysis are time consuming to collate and take up too much of my staff's already stretched capacity.
- Risk events are not reported in a timely or consistent way leading to delays in getting the key information on which the team can act, slowing down the operational response and intervention options.
- Key Risk Indicators and associated thresholds are too generic and inflexible creating inconsistencies across geography, culture and business units.
- Compliance with the corporate security and risk policy is difficult and time consuming to track across multiple business units.
- The ability to view all outstanding, current and future security tasks and activities is very difficult to capture and report leading to gaps in the fulfilment of policy and procedure.
- We have a number of corporate events for which we have to repeat the same security event management procedures. These are resource intensive and time consuming.
Incident & Crisis Management
- The ability to escalate a normal operational event to a significant incident often requires multiple systems and a lot of manually coordination leading to the loss of valuable time and "decision paralysis" during the response.
- Sharing information quickly and with the right people during an incident is slow and resource intensive leading to my team spending more time making calls and cutting and pasting between emails and spreadsheets than actually managing the incident and making decisions.
Intelligence Management
- Collating all the relevant information in relation to key assets and premises takes hours instead of minutes.
- Email reporting and spreadsheet analysis are time consuming when we already have far too many reports to produce.
- Being able to visualise information in relation to key premises/assets, geographic hotspots and other external influences such as political/environmental aspects takes a lot of time and effort and is often missed or left out in order to get timely reports out, often leading to less than ideal assessments.
- Understanding how business centric events and external incidents influence each other is difficult to visualise and assess manually.
Business Continuity & Resilience
- Getting the information about premises and assets is reliant on key individuals and we have seen that if these people are not available there can be significant delays to the recovery process.
